The company is one of the world’s leading chemical companies supplying raw materials to most industries. BASF plc is the BASF Group’s main operating company in the UK and markets a wide range of  products including chemicals, construction chemicals, crop protection products,dispersions and pigments, pest control solutions and plastics. Due to promotion the UK Crop Protection Division wishes to recruit a highly professional  Market Manager.

Accountable for setting the strategic direction for your crop and market sector (UK & IRE) including development of the market strategies and technical plan for your portfolio of near to market products and services concerned specifically with Nitrogen Management for both arable and grassland.

Activities will include leading price discussion, preparation of the annual budget for your crop sector, reviewing the market data and research projects plus ad hoc studies to measure the effectiveness of the market and product strategies and to feedback the information into the 10 year planning process. Your success will be driven through effective management of your portfolio and strong directional and influencing of both technical and commercial colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the fertiliser industry, livestock farming and N management products together with strong business and financial acumen, proven leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A demonstrable understanding of the agricultural market including customers, competitive landscape & business cycles, together with a minimum of 10 year’s experience gained in a commercial / marketing role is desired.
